Paul Atterbury is a British antique expert and television presenter who is well known for his appearance on the BBC TV antique program, Antique Roadshow. He has been in the station since 1979 and has specialized in the art, architecture, design, and decorative arts of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Additionally, he is also known as the son of Rowley Atterbury and Audrey Atterbury who worked on the 1950s children’s Watch With Mother program Andy Pandy for the BBC and who, it is claimed, based the character’s appearances on that of her son.
Paul attended Westminster School and later enrolled at the University of East Anglia where he pursued graphic designs. Later, he went and worked for Sotheby Publications where he served as a historical advisor for Royal Doulton. In 1980 and 1981, he was the editor of Connoisseur.
Later, Atterbury became a freelance writer, lecturer, and broadcaster who has written and edited over 30books, mostly on ceramics. Paul is also known for his travel writing where he has written books on railways and canals.
