On July 5, an elderly man from Michigan named Gordon Kujawski, 82, tragically struck and murdered his own wife Edna Mae Kujawski, 80, as they were leaving a food drive at their church. The 2021 Ford Explorer Gordon was driving struck Edna, a retired teacher, while Gordon was backing out of a parking space at Our Lady Consolata Parish Church in Gagetown at about ten o’clock in the evening, according to the authorities. Edna finally passed away from her wounds.

Witnesses stated Edna was transferring a bag of trash to a trash can in the parking lot as her husband was pulling away after spending the evening serving at the church’s food pantry. Michigan State Troopers do not believe that drugs or alcohol had a part in the woman’s death, and the spouse has not been detained in relation to it.

According to Michigan Live, after the investigation is over, the officers will submit a report for review to the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office.

Edna was a devout Catholic, a retired teacher who was well-liked in her community, and she had previously taught children in Ghana, according to her online obituary. Edna Mae Kujawski of Cass City, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in Gagetown, according to her online obituary. To the late Steve and Katheryn (Lutomski) Karpovich, Edna was born on May 1, 1942. Edna wed Gordon Kujawski at St. Priscilla Catholic Church in Livonia on May 9, 1987. Edna has a compassionate heart from a young age. She graduated from Madonna College with a degree in education, and after enhancing her teaching abilities at Eastern Michigan University, she went on to teach at a number of middle schools in Michigan. In addition to having a lasting impact on the pupils she taught in Ghana, Africa, Edna had her most memorable teaching experiences there. She loved making wedding cakes, and she even made her own wedding cake. She even carried a groom’s cake on the plane to Arizona for her stepson’s wedding.

“Edna valued her friends, family, and her religious beliefs. She ran the St. Agatha Church Food Pantry and volunteered wherever she perceived a need because she was very involved in her church. This helped her win the Bishop Murphy Award for 2012 from the Diocese of Saginaw. She enjoyed gardening a lot, so retiring at age 55 allowed her to have more time to enjoy her flowers and her Polish-Ukrainian ancestry. After spending many years away from home, Edna and Gordy moved back to Cass City twenty years ago to enjoy life in the country, according to the obituary.

According to the Daily Mail, Edna is also survived by Gordon, four stepsons, Kevin of Livonia, Greg and his wife Justine, Matthew, and David Kujawski, who are all from Arizona, seven grandchildren, and a nephew who lives in Cass City with his wife Holly.
