Details From Snapped Episode About Wife Cory Allen Voss’s Murder And Affair

The second episode of Season 31 of Snapped, which contains a premeditated murder of Catherina’s husband Cory Allen, a Navy officer, is currently airing. The show will air on July 24, 2022.

Investigators from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service have come forward to talk about how they unraveled a murder-for-hire plot by an adulterous wife that killed her naval officer husband.

Ensign Cory Allen Voss, 30, was shot and died in Newport News, Virginia, on April 30, 2007. In the end, the jury found that the murder was committed by his wife Catherina “Cat” Voss, her lover Michael Draven, and hitman David Runyon.

Cory was shot five times while driving his pickup truck after his wife sent him on an errand to retrieve cash from an ATM. The investigators determined that Cat desired a $400,000 life insurance policy with lifetime widow benefits, a $100,000 military death benefit, and other perks.

After meeting in a bar in Newport News, Virginia, in 1999, Cory and Cat fell in love.

After seeing Cat for three months, Cory was eager to pop the question when she revealed she was expecting.

Cat’s secret—that she was already married to Steve Larson, a high school classmate from Newport News with whom she shared a young daughter—was kept from Cory.

Following her first husband’s divorce, Catherine wed Cory. Both a boy and a girl were born to the couple.

Speaking of her extramarital relationship, investigators claim that she met her current lover, Michael Draven, on My Space in the summer of 2006, while Cory was serving a deployment aboard the USS Elrod.

As a filmmaker and photographer, Draven claimed to make hundreds of millions of dollars every year. He had a beard and was a mysterious, fascinating man. In reality, he and his mother lived in a mobile home and he delivered newspapers as a part-time job.

His original name was Anthony Neff, but he changed it to Eric Draven in the fictional role of the title character in the movie The Crow. According to Cat’s pal, Catherine and her new partner devised a plan to murder Coy.

According to camera evidence, Cory’s pickup truck was broken into while he was inside the ATM. Shortly after pulling away from the ATM, Cory returned and attempted to make another withdrawal, but his request was denied due to insufficient cash.

The following morning, Cory’s body was found in his pickup truck in a parking lot close to the credit union. Five rounds had been fired at him from close range. Four hollow-point bullets from a “.38 class” firearm, which includes those that can fire 9 mm,.38 special, and.357 magnum rounds, were found inside of his body. The deceased was killed by three gunshots to the chest and abdomen.

According to Wikipedia

Newport News was where she was born and raised.

When Cory and Catherina first got married, she was the center of attention for his family and had a distinct Russian accent.

A daughter was born to Catherina and her first husband, who is also in the military. She has two children with her husband, a Navy man named Cory Allen.

A $100,000 automatic death payment is granted to the next-of-kin when an active duty service member passes away, following the passing of husband Cory.

Investigators said that Cat overspent on hotels, food, jewelry, and even assisted her partner Draven by paying the rent for Draven to move out of his mother’s trailer and into a new apartment.

To gather information on Cory’s death, Detective Rilee was hired. He then placed a hold on Cory’s $400,000 life insurance benefit and military widow benefits. When the inquiry revealed Catherine was involved in her husband’s death, she was taken into custody.
