SINGAPORE – A forty five-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (March 29) for allegedly spraying paint on cameras and reducing a few of their wires.
The police stated in a press launch that they had been alerted at about 10.55pm on Sunday to a case of vandalism at Block 9 North Bridge Road.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly sprayed black paint on eight CCTV cameras and cut the wires of two of these cameras,” stated the police.
Officers from the Central Police Division arrested the person after establishing his id via floor inquiries and with assistance from police cameras.
He shall be charged in courtroom on Wednesday for vandalism below Section 3 of the Vandalism Act 1966.
If discovered responsible, he may withstand three years of imprisonment or a fantastic of as much as $2,000, and caning of no fewer than three strokes and not more than eight strokes.
The police stated those that commit such thoughtless acts shall be handled firmly, as such acts can inconvenience the general public and delay police response to individuals in want.
