Whether she’s receiving an honorary doctorate from NYU or keeping fans on their toes with her next re-recording announcement, Taylor Swift is constantly making headlines.
Over on TikTok, fans of Swift are discovering footage of an abandoned mansion and some claim the place was built for the singer’s parents.
As reported by My1053WJLT, the home stands at 23,000 square feet but, for whatever reason, was abandoned in 2011.

Abandoned mansion allegedly owned by Taylor Swift’s family
Taylor Swift has never addressed the abandoned mansion and there is no evidence to support her owning the property but, according to multiple reports and YouTube videos, the home was built for the pop star’s parents, Andrea Gardner and Scott Kingsley Swift.
Reportedly the home was abandoned in 2011 as a newbuild but a 2011 article by The Daily Mail reveals Swift bought Scott and Andrea a completely different $2.5 million Nashville mansion around the same time as the supposed abandoned home.
The Nashville mega-home made Swift’s parents the neighbours of major stars including Nicole Kidman and featured a 2,000 square foot pool house. Talk about luxury.
However, as reported by Distractify the Red singer’s parents divorced in 2011 but kept things under wraps so Taylor’s career didn’t get overshadowed. It is unclear what happened to the Nashville mansion the couple shared.

The theory the abandoned 2011 mansion belonged to Taylor Swift and her family has been floating around for a while now but, over on TikTok, fans are rediscovering the footage all over again.
Some TikTok users have even fancied themselves as urban explorers and have visited the property:
“It’s so crazy it has been left all of these years,” one person commented.
“That house is huge I can’t believe it’s abandoned,” another wrote.
What doesn’t do any favours for the ‘mega-mansion theory’ is no-one appears to have said where the property is – with vague hints of Nashville (perhaps in confusion with the Daily Mail-reported property) and Pennsylvania mentioned.
Others certainly don’t think the home has anything to do with Taylor as there’s no proof of her ownership – current or otherwise.
“That’s not Taylor’s, get your facts right!” one person said.
“There’s no way this is Taylor’s, lol,” another added.
Taylor Swift owns multiple homes
There’s no evidence Taylor Swift owned the 23,000 square foot abandoned mansion but, regardless, she certainly isn’t short of property.
As reported by Architectural Digest in 2019, the Cardigan singer owns a condo and suburb home in Nashville, a cottage and mansion in Beverly Hills, a mansion in Rhode Island, and an apartment, townhouse and penthouse in New York City.
We bet her real estate portfolio must be worth millions of dollars! Who needs an abandoned mansion when you’ve got all those?
