Former Lagos commissioner Ms. Kemi Nelson has passed away. She passed away at the age of 66. She has been ill, say insiders, for a while.

When Gistmaster gathered the previous zonal women leader on the All Progressive Congress (APC) platform in Lagos, Nelson was a member of Tinubu’s inner political caucus.

She was also the sole woman on the Governance Advisory Board for Lagos State.

Former Lagos Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Mrs. Kemi Nelson has passed away.

Nelson, also referred to as Yeye-Sewa of Lagos, died after a protracted illness. She was a steadfast follower of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State.

She passed away on Sunday, according to Mayen Dally Adeokun, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Ikeja Chapter, and the chairman conference of the 57 APC chairmen in Lagos State.

“With broken hearts but thankfulness to almighty God, we announce the passing this morning of our Ikeja apex leader and state GAC member, Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson,” Adeokun said.

A brief message that offered their heartfelt condolences to her immediate family as well as the Ikeja political family was also enclosed.

Former Southwest Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress Kemi Nelson has passed away.

The death of the APC leader was announced in a tweet sent out on Sunday by Gboyega Akosile, the governor of Lagos State’s top press secretary, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The official obituary for the politician has not yet been published. On the other hand, Kemi has been getting many of touching condolence messages online.

“May the soul of the late Chief Mrs. Kemi Nelson, former Southwest Women Leader of the @OfficialAPCNg, rest in peace,” tweeted Akosule on Sunday.

May God give her close relatives, friends, and acquaintances the fortitude to deal with this loss.

The deceased was a supporter of Bola Tinubu, an APC candidate for president.

According to reports, the lawmaker had been ill for a few months before she passed away. One of the party leaders claimed that it was clear that she was ill.

Nelson completed her secondary school at the Anglican Girls Grammar School in Ijebu-Ode after being born on February 9, 1956, in Lagos.

At the University College Hospital in Ibadan, where she completed her tertiary studies, Kemi earned her degree as a registered nurse and midwife.

Kemi obtained both a diploma in law and an MBA in financial management from Lagos State University Ojo.

Her husband is Adeyemi Nelson, a former director of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Their union in 1987 produced three children. She is renowned for having short hair and wearing distinctive accessories. Nothing about her family or kids has been made public as of yet.
