Director, choreographer, dancer, and performance artist Darius Barnes passed away at the age of 34.

In addition to Mean Girls, Memphis, Charlie, Chocolate Factory, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Kiss Me Kate, and Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Darius has performed as an actor in six Broadway plays.

Darius was an associate choreographer for the Off-Broadway production of the Kimberly Akimbo musical adaptation in addition to his work on Broadway. He made his Off-Broadway debut in The New Group’s rendition of Sweet Charity.

According to the Twitter account New York City Center, the news of the young star Darius Barnes’ death was sad for those who knew him best and for his followers. His dedication to his profession and infectious, unrelenting attitude won the crowd over.

While working as a dance instructor, he has taught master’s courses at the Broadway Dance Center in New York and the Baltimore School of Arts.

He started creating choreography after accepting an invitation to the 10th anniversary party of the New York Choreographic Institute.

He was asked to create work for NYC Ballet’s orchestra concert series at Lincoln Center along with other well-known performers including Jerome Robbins and George Balanchine as a result.

Actor Darius Barnes appeared in both the 2013 television series Smash and Halston in 2021. Darius has appeared on stage in six different Broadway productions, such as Mean Girls and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.

He most recently played Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark to round off this list. Although he played a principal role in the Tony Award-winning musical, this actor has a long history of success.

When he started choreographing, he had only turned twenty. Despite this, he worked with some of New York City’s most well-known performers.

They asked Him to create a piece especially for the occasion, to be performed with other eminent musicians like Jerome Robbins. He acts as a mentor for both children and adults, assisting them in building their skills from scratch.

According to the website Broadway World, Darius was a member of the teaching staff, the adjudication panel, and the alumni advisory council on diversity and inclusion at the School of American Ballet (NYC). He just passed away, though. As well as Operation Triple Threat in Barbados, the Broadway Collective, the Broadway Dance Center, and the Baltimore School for the Arts, he has also instructed master’s level courses at these institutions.

The actor works as a part-time dance instructor at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Baltimore, Maryland, and Greenwich Dance Studio in Greenwich, Connecticut.

As an associate choreographer for the Atlantic theatre group, Darius works with Kimberly Akimbo. He started choreographing after being admitted to the New York Choreographic Institute.

For the institute’s tenth anniversary, he was requested to write a piece about the modern York City Ballet. Carolina Dance debuted his new ballet as part of their choreographer spotlight series.
