Jason Derusha said goodbye to WCCO This Morning on June 23. He had worked for the TV network for 19 years.
In 2003, Jason became a reporter for WCCO. He was able to make a name for himself in the public’s mind. After almost 10 years as a weekend anchor and reporter for the WCCO Good Question program, he started working as a morning anchor.
The reporter had been thinking about leaving his job as the morning anchor for two months and had said so before. After the news came out, a lot of people were upset because they were used to hearing Derusha.
The journalist wants to work at the WCCO station on special projects and daytime shifts. On his last day as a morning anchor, his co-anchors and WCCO TV wished him well and reminded him of good times.

Jason, who is from Illinois, said that after more than 11 years at the anchor desk, he wants to spend more time with his family.
Derusha was the host of the WCCO This Morning show from 4:30 am to 7 am during the week. He also helps host WCCO Mid Morning from 9 to 10 a.m.
He also talks about the news for the weekly show DeRusha Eats. After having a busy schedule, he now wants to be more organized and follow a routine.
He will still be in the WCCO-AM 830 studio, where he will be hosting his new radio show from 3 to 6 pm. The show will begin on June 27 and air during the week.

After Jason stopped being an anchor, WCCO CBS News Minnesota had to make a big change to the schedule to make sure that all the shows got the same amount of time. All of the staff got together to wish him luck in the future and thank him for being the morning anchor for more than 27,000 mornings.

The reporter’s show, DeRusha Eats, has been named a finalist for a James Beard Award for Outstanding TV Segment.
