The Winston-Salem Police Department said on Twitter that a victim was located at the Hanes Mall Boulevard store, but they weren’t shot.

Local FOX affiliate WGHP reported that a call about a shooting inside the store came in at about 8.32pm local time.

A shopper told the news outlet that she was inside Target with her daughter when they heard a loud bang.

People seemed panicked and everyone rushed toward the front, she said. Her daughter took off so quick, she left her shoes behind.

There was a heavy police presence in front of the store as Winston-Salem police and the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office swarmed the scene.

Residents were asked to avoid the area.

Few other details about the incident were immediately available.

The Sun contacted local police for more information about what happened.
