When “Bridgerton” was renewed for Season 2, creator Chris Van Dusen was quick to tell fans that Anthony Bridgerton would be the focus of the episodes, per Marie Claire. Phoebe Dynevor also revealed that the series was moving away from Daphne’s storyline to focus on the character’s older brother. “We’re very much passing on the baton to the lovely [Jonathan Bailey], who plays Anthony, and that will be the main storyline of Season 2 and the story arc of Season 2,” the actress previously revealed.

Although it was confirmed that Dynevor would return to reprise her role as Daphne for Season 2, Regé-Jean Page admitted that he would not be returning to his beloved character, Simon. The actor revealed that he always believed his role on “Bridgerton” to be a one-season gig. “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end — give us a year,” Page said. “[I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on,” he told Variety. “I have nothing but excitement for ‘Bridgerton’ continuing to steam train off and conquer the globe. But there is also value in completing these arcs and sticking the landing,” he added.

However, “Bridgerton” fans are still holding out hope that Page could return for Season 3 of the Netflix series.
