“Don’t Worry Darling” will be a psychological thriller set in the 1950s with Harry Styles and Florence Pugh starring as husband and wife. Recently, director and co-star Olivia Wilde posted a short snippet of the film in which the duo is seen sharing a passionate on-screen kiss (via Us Weekly). The couple moves to a supposedly idyllic but experimental neighborhood as a result of the husband’s place of employment. Throughout the film, the secrets of the community begin to unravel. Actor Chris Pine said of the project, “The aesthetic of the movie is beautiful. The story is so compelling and so fun and so dark and twisted.”
Filming for “Don’t Worry Darling” originally began in 2020, but was postponed due to complications from the pandemic. On set, crew members tested positive for COVID-19 which, alongside recasting issues, delayed the movie’s initial release. “It definitely affects that exact ingredient in the process, that camaraderie. It definitely makes it more difficult,” said Wilde. “Don’t Worry Darling” has since gotten back on schedule and is set to be released on September 23, 2022. In Wilde’s teaser post on Instagram, she revealed that the release will be in theaters only, so you won’t be able to watch it on a streaming service until after the run in theaters is complete.
