Popular Nigerian singer, Kcee has opened up on why he switched from secular to gospel music.

He took to his Instagram tales to disclose that the change was deliberate.

According to him, he deliberately made the change to steer clear of stagnancy, after spending over 20 years inside the music commerce.

Kcee said; “The change was deliberate and intentional. I’ve been doing this for twenty-three years so, you’ll be able to’t be stagnant.

“So sometimes for me, I have to move it around, switch it around. And that was one of those things I did. And it clicked, it worked for me somehow.”

On the inspiration behind his new sound, he outlined; “For those who find out about my profession, it began from the church.

“I grew up in a house the place my father was the DJ, promoting a few of these previous information. So, I’ve at all times had that someplace behind me to revamp a few of these previous songs.

“And so, when the concept got here, I attempted it and a few individuals have been like, ‘No, it’s not going to work. Don’t launch it.’

“Some people were like ‘just try it and at the end of the day, it worked”, he added.
