Following Murray’s death, numerous tributes and obituaries were shared on social media.

Her parents are working to raise awareness about waterfront safety and are collaborating with Aruba officials to prevent other people from suffering the same fate as their daughter.

Murray was a girl from Milton, Massachusetts, who died in a boating accident while vacationing with her family in Aruba in the Caribbean Sea.

The 13-year-old was tubing when she was ejected into the water, and the boat driver lost control and struck her.

Cassidy was wearing a life jacket and could have been saved if she was not struck by the boat.

The parents received a report which read that Cassidy’s death was deemed an accident and no negligence or recklessness was involved.

However, they do not believe it to be an accident. Cassidy’s mother, Linda, said that her daughter died due to the negligence of the boat driver.

Cassidy Murray studied in seventh grade at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Murray’s family released a statement announcing the death of the 13-year-old.

The statement added that Cassidy was a beautiful spirit, genuinely kind-hearted, with a bright mind and joyful zest.

Cassie Murray’s school also released a statement on the passing of one of their beloved students.

Buckingham Browne & Nichols School head Jennifer Pierce said that Cassidy had the unique gift of uniting her classmates with her smile and kindness.

Pierce added that he was known for her sense of humor and camaraderie.

Before joining Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, Murray was a student at Pierce Middle School.

Her brother, Adam, who studied in 10th grade at BBNS, recommended she join the school.

She completed gymnastics and played hockey at school. She was of Irish ethnic background and was proud of her roots.

Her friends said she made a Claddagh-ring mug and Celtic-cross plate in ceramics class.

Cassidy’s mother, Linda, said they didn’t know the dangers and weren’t aware of the consequences.

She and her husband collaborate with Aruba officials to create awareness and prevent another family from going through a tragedy.

Linda added that their daughter, Cassidy, passed away unnecessarily.

The parents urged Aruba officials to implement a new safety protocol, including adding a second employee as a boat spotter.

Following the unfortunate incident, a couple of GoFundMe was started to benefit Cassidy’s parents, Linda and Dave Murray.

The fundraisers raised a total of $133K, with support from all over the world.
