A WOMAN was stunned after her £435 hair extensions got lost in the post – and she received something entirely different instead.
Nathalie Dawe sent the parcel via recorded delivery for a routine salon appointment, only for it to turn up containing a small china sausage dog plant pot.
The blonde, who sent the package from a post office in Birmingham, has since had to fork out £390 for a new set – but Royal Mail has offered her just £50.
She told the BBC: “It was the end of the day and I felt as if they were rushing me through.
“They didn’t ask me about the value of the item.
“Royal Mail have offered me £50, as that’s all they say the parcel was insured for. It’s really disappointing.”
Nathalie, from Castle Donington, Leicestershire, posted the extensions to her hairdresser so they could prepare them before her appointment.
She believes her parcel and the other were damaged in transit, and somehow the contents got mixed up.
“The salon was really confused to receive this plant pot instead,” she said.
“Obviously, I sincerely apologise to the person who has received my hair in the post when they were expecting a plant pot.”
Royal Mail has since apologised for the mistake, adding it was investigating.
A spokesperson added: “We are sorry that our customer has had cause to complain about her disappointment with our services on this occasion.
“As our customer has escalated her complaint to the Postal Review Panel, we cannot comment further until the panel has completed its review, which is due shortly.”
The Sun has contacted the Post Office for comment.
