A TODDLER plunged from an upstairs window at a property in Birmingham yesterday.
The 18-month-old boy was rushed to hospital with bruising following the first-floor fall in Handsworth at about 1pm.
The surrounding area in Wattville Road was cordoned off while police investigated.
Thankfully, the youngster is not believed to have been seriously injured.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “An 18-month-old boy has been taken to hospital after falling from a first floor window at a property in Wattville Road, Birmingham around 1pm (April 29).
“The child has been left bruised, and is now being checked for any further injuries.
“We cordoned off the property while we investigated the circumstances of the fall.”
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to reports of a patient who had fallen from height on Wattville Road at 1.04pm.
“One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.
“On arrival we discovered a male toddler who was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment.”
