Lyla Ives, eight, suddenly died after a possible ‘medical episode’ leaving her family and classmates heartbroken

Tributes poured in for the Cramlington youngster- describing her as a “one of a kind” youngster who loved playing with her friends and making TikTok videos.

Tests are still underway, but it is understood little Lyla may have died from a possible medical episode, according to ChronicleLive.

A family friend Martin Bell paid tribute to the “bubbly” youngster and set up a donation page on behalf of Lyla’s parents Stuart and Courtney.

A note on her JustGiving page said: “Last week we had the absolutely devastating news that we have lost our beautiful Lyla.

“It’s impossible to put into words the pain and sadness everyone is feeling, losing her so suddenly and at such a young age.

“Lyla was such a bright, amazing and funny girl. She touched the hearts of everyone who met her.

“She was adored by family, friends, teachers and schoolmates. She has left a void that will never be filled and broke the hearts of us all.

“We can never bring her back and by God I wish there was a way we could, but by helping out with this fundraiser I’m hoping we can at least take away part of the financial burden a funeral brings and make a fitting memorial to her.

“It’s the very least she deserves.”

The eight-year-old loved spending her time watching YouTube.

Lyla was a popular pupil in her primary school – who described her as a “happy-go-lucky” young girl.

And her devastated school community said that the Year 4 pupil has left an “indelible print on our hearts.”

Cramlington Village Primary School said in a moving statement: “Lyla was kind, compassionate, considerate and popular in the local community as she played out with friends across lots of year groups.

“She was happy-go-lucky, always liked to do the right thing and she has left an indelible print on our hearts.

“At CVPS we feel the school is an extended family to us all and we are so devastated to lose one of our own.”
