TWO people have been hospitalised and over 100 pupils had to be checked by paramedics after an “aerosol” drama at a school.
Firefighters were called to St Paul’s Catholic High School in Wythenshawe, Manchester, at around 12.20pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics had to check over more than 100 people following the “suspected aerosol discharge”.
Two people were taken to hospital suffering from minor breathing difficulties, North West Ambulance Service said.
Firefighters attended the school, situated on Firbank Road, and ventilated the building.
A school spokesman said: “Earlier this afternoon the school was evacuated as a precaution due to the suspected discharge of an aerosol in one area of the school.
“The emergency services were called by the school to support the efforts being made to ensure the wellbeing of our pupils.
“All pupils have been accounted for and responded to the situation in a very mature way.
“Parents have been notified via email and text message, but, there is currently no need to collect their child early from school.”
Road closures are in place in the area.
