The victim, a university student, had been enjoying a night out during freshers’ week last year when he was viciously assaulted, a court heard.

Jeremy Barton, prosecuting, said the victim had ordered food from a takeaway and was sitting on a bench eating, reports Leeds Live.

He was approached by Parkin – who was under the influence of spice – in the early hours of the morning after clubbing.

Mr Barton said: “She asked for £10 and the complainant asked the defendant if she wanted some food and offered her a chicken nugget.”

Parkin did not reply but walked away and picked up a broken bottle. A witness saw her smash the bottle and walk back towards the student holding the weapon.

The witness shouted to the victim as he was worried about Parkin’s “menacing” behaviour but he did not hear the warning.

Mr Barton said: “The defendant literally walked up to him and stabbed the broken glass bottle into his face, causing a laceration.”

It was heard that the victim pulled a piece of glass from his face as members of the public helped stem the bleeding.

The victim went to hospital where the face wound was cleaned and glued together.

He was discharged later the same day and escaped permanent injury.

Another witness took the victim’s mobile phone from him and used it to take photos of Parkin. She was tracked on CCTV cameras as she walked through the city centre.

Police officers approached her and she picked up another bottle from the ground. She raised the bottle above her head but the officers managed to detain her.

The court also heard that Parkin attacked a prison officer while she was on remand, damaging the officer’s thumb and kicking her in the side of the head.

Parkin was told she must serve a custodial term of four years, two-thirds of which must be spent in jail.

She must then serve a further three years on licence.

She has racked up 55 previous convictions for 109 offences, including violence.

Judge Geoffrey Marson QC described the bottle attack as “nasty and premeditated”.

He said: “When the victim offered you some food in an act of kindness, you walked away, armed yourself with a bottle, deliberately broke it, went back towards him and slashed him across the face, causing him a nasty wound which had glass embedded in it, which the victim had to remove.

“You have a terrible record and you persistently breach court orders.

“This is a significant escalation in your offending. I have no hesitation in coming to the conclusion that I do regard you as a dangerous offender.”
