AN OPTICAL illusion cleverly reveals just how easily distracted you are.
Only one percent of us can stare at a flashing dot long enough to be classed as having an “extraordinary attention span”, according to TikToker Prof. AMX.
The video requires you to stare at a dot in the middle of the screen.
There are three yellow dots around it which will disappear in different ways depending on how good your attention span is.
They should slowly begin to vanish from your consciousness one by one.
But if you let your eyes wander, the effect will break and the dots will reappear.

“If you can only make one or two of the spots vanish, then you’re probably easily distracted and find it hard to focus your attention for long,” Prof. AMX said.
“If you can make them all vanish then you probably have a normal attention span.
“And if you can make them all vanish for five to ten seconds, which by the way less than one per cent of people can do, then you likely have an extraordinary attention span.”
He also suggests if you can’t make the dots disappear for long then you might have ADHD, given that difficulty concentrating on tasks is a known symptom – though such a claim should be cautioned, as it’s not a scientifically proven test for the condition.
