It’s not quite clear why the iPod Touch has been discontinued, but it comes as no surprise.
Apple stopped releasing now iPods on a yearly basis in 2012 and has only released two newer generations since then.
In 2015, Apple removed iPod from its homepage – a sign of what was to come.
The iPod Touch has been around for 15 years and seven generations.
The company said it was discontinuing the once-popular listening device in May 2022.
The iPod was first introduced in October 2001 and quickly became one of Apple’s most iconic products.

The iPod Touch is still available on Apple’s website as well as most big third-party vendors such as Amazon and Walmart.
