IPL 2026 Auction: Preview

The IPL 2026 Auction is set to be a mini-auction, where most teams will likely retain their core players while filling only a few gaps. Notably, both Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are likely to make key changes after experiencing poor campaigns in 2025. Teams will still be barred from bringing in unregistered overseas players, unless they are medically exempt. This means that teams will primarily have to bid for released players, unsold names from 2025, and those who missed out due to injury.

The IPL 2026 Auction is expected to take place between December 13 and 15, 2025 with November 15 set as the last date for player retentions.
