Jeff Dickerson was a reporter at ESPN. He had played several roles in the company. He was an NFL Nation Chicago Bears reporter, Radio network host, and ESPN 1000.

Based on the information from ESPN press room, he joined ESPN in May 2001 and was serving as the Chicago Bears correspondent for ESPN’s NFL Nation at the time of his passing.

His NFL coverage can be seen, heard, and read on every platform owned by ESPN. It includes ESPN.com, SportsCenter, NFL Live, and Outside the Lines.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he began his ESPN career as a talk-show host/reporter/SportsCenter anchor at ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago.

In 2009, he went into the online world after creating ESPNChicago.com. He worked as the Chicago Bears beat reporter for ESPNChicago.com for six years before moving to ESPN.com in April 2015.

Meanwhile, he had joined the ESPN Radio national network, where he hosted Dickerson and Hood on Saturdays and Sundays when football season was over. Thus, he was a popular weekday fill-in host, often appearing on national shows throughout ESPN Radio’s schedule.

He shared how Jeff lifted everyone’s spirit, saying he would beat cancer during an October event. The deputy editor has sent prayers to his family and his son.

Jeff Dickerson died in the same hospice care facility where he lost his wife, Caitlin, from cancer two years ago. His wife had suffered for eight years from melanoma and its complications.

 

On the other hand, he passed away from the complications of colon cancer, leaving his 11 years old son behind.
