Although the circumstances could’ve been better, the Sussexes’ departure from the royal family, and indeed England, may have come at just the right time for Meghan Markle. According to former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, the “Suits” star was never comfortable living across the pond. In fact, per the Daily Mail, Markle “disliked England” and won’t return even if, as she suspects, Prince Harry rejoins the royal family and splits his time between the U.S. and U.K. following the queen’s death.
Brown, who described the celebrity couple as being “addicted to drama,” revealed that their sensational departure from the monarchy caused major issues. Hopefully, if and when Harry returns, “they will find a way to reel him in.” Although Brown acknowledged that Meghan may commute alongside Harry, it’s unlikely. The former editor revealed the British public could use the couple now, arguing, “The queen is failing, and she’s very frail.”
Brown continued, “They kind of need Harry and Meghan to bring that star power and to be on the balcony at the Jubilee.” It’s worth noting that, at the time of their exit, royal expert Omid Scobie wrote in Harper’s Bazaar that the Sussexes were devastated over being forced to leave. Unfortunately, they felt that, due to the lack of support from the family, as well as the increasingly negative attention from the British tabloids, there was no other choice.
