Last season was arguably a huge blunder for the Houston Rockets and they clearly need to rebuild their whole team. While a lot of changes are expected in the team, a recent rumor reveals that they are on the path to it. As per reports, Houston Rockets and former Washington Wizards star, John Wall might be reaching a negotiation that will make him a free agent.

John Wall signed a four-year contract of $171 million with an annual average salary of $42 million. He is expected to earn $47 million this year, but the star might have different plans. As per NBA insider Marc Stein, John Wall is negotiating a buyout with the Rockets management. Although, there are no reports on how much he is willing to surrender to become a free agent.

Both have mutual interests in this deal. The Rockets would be able to expand their available cap size to acquire big players. And John Wall will have the potential to look for a better market and team up with a star player. It could be his best chance to have a legitimate run at the title.

What does it mean for the league?

John Wall was the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, going to become an NBA All-Star five times. His availability in the open market is sure to raise many eyebrows. As per Mark Stein, a lot of teams have already registered their interests in the 31-year-old.

The two potential teams that are looking to have Wall on their teams are the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat. While Miami has massively improved its performance in the last few years, they are yet to win a title. Having John Wall by the side of Jimmy Butler can give them the extra force that they need.

The Clippers are already considered to be a difficult team to beat if both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George remain healthy. Having Wall on the team is bound to strengthen their contest.
