Not that it wasn’t so before, but especially after his maiden NASCAR Cup Series win, Tyler Reddick is without a doubt one of the hottest properties in the sport right now. And what makes him even more of a big deal is the uncertainty surrounding his future.
The uncertainty that will see him either stay at Richard Childress Racing or see him find a new team, perhaps, an even bigger team.
And if we’re talking about big teams, then arguably, there’s no bigger team in the sport than Hendrick Motorsports. Now, this begs the question, who would Reddick be replacing in a team full of superstars and young prospects?
Well, if you ask Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, it’d be Alex Bowman who’d have to go if Mr. H decides to go for Mr. R – “If you’re Rick Hendrick, do you want Tyler Reddick in the #48 or do you want Alex Bowman right now?”
“I feel like Alex, he’s had a decent season, but I feel like he’s been noticeably below where the other three cars have been running. I don’t know. It’s gonna be Larson-esque,” Kraft continued.
“Everybody’s gonna want him and somebody’s gonna get him.”

Richard Childress and Tyler Reddick on Road America win
After the race at Road America, Tyler Reddick and Richard Childress reflected on the win. While the legendary team owner expressed his sureness about his driver’s fate, Reddick took the other route by acknowledging the effort, the people that have led him to where he is today.
“It’s great to see Tyler Reddick in the winner’s circle,” Childress said. “It wasn’t a matter of if he was going to do it, it was a matter of when they were going to win.”

Tyler Reddick admitted that they’ve been “Slapped in the face” with the reality of the NASCAR Cup Series.
“I’ve had to learn a lot over the course of these last three years in the Cup Series as a driver. But I’ve had some really great people behind me to help me do that,” he added.
