Every established athlete has had a driving force that helped them to be where they were when they achieved their success. Mike Tyson, being no exception, had his own group of elements that he believes helped him become the heavyweight champion of the world. In an interview with Alpha Influence, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ spoke about some of the negative aspects of life that made him the well-known figure he is.

Although he admitted he was ashamed, Tyson expressed that without jealousy and envy, he would have barely been recognized anywhere today. The following is what Mike Tyson told.

He said, “Yeah, listen, you know what happened? To the best of my ability, I’ve been guiding away from jealousy. But I was ashamed. Without jealousy, without envyness ( barbarism), where would I be? If everything inspired me to be who I wanted to be. Destroying people because I thought he was better than me. I wanna f***ing destroy you mo**erf*****r!”

Who Mike Tyson wanted to be like

Mike Tyson always kept Muhammad Ali in his highest regard. However, Tyson, who became a world champion by the time he turned twenty, once admitted that he scarcely ever wanted to follow in the footsteps of Ali. Instead, he wanted to be ferocious, malevolent, and mean, like Jack Dempsey and Sonny Liston. He even went to the extent of saying that he came from their (Dempsey and Liston’s) cloth.

Tyson, in his younger days, lived a deprived life surrounded by poverty and hardships. Given his circumstances, Tyson ended up jealous of other people. Therefore, with his gloves on, Tyson became ruthless and full of aggression in every single one of his fights.
