Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has not been in his best form recently. The fighter is currently on a four-fight losing streak in the promotion.

At the recent event of UFC 274, Tony Ferguson suffered one of the most brutal knockouts in the history of the promotion. Michael Chandler head-kicked El Cucuy in the second round of their bout, and Ferguson was out cold for a couple of minutes. 

Ferguson did not attend the post-fight press conference, as he typically does, and was apparently transported to the hospital by the UFC.

Fortunately, the fighter suffered no serious injuries and his CT scan came back negative following the brutal leg kick to the head. The news was first revealed by MMA reporter Shaheen Al-Shatti.

His bout against Chandler at UFC 274 was an extremely crucial one for Ferguson, given that he is on a losing streak and hasn’t won a fight since 2019. The fighter will not face any major top-ranked fighter in his next bout and will have to build his way to the top after his recent losses.

Conor McGregor takes a dig at Tony Ferguson after Michael Chandler knocked him out

Tony Ferguson unfortunately ended up being on the receiving end of one of the greatest knockouts that the promotion has ever witnessed.

Conor McGregor is one of the biggest stars in the UFC. The fighter has one of the biggest fan bases on the Internet. He used it to mock Ferguson after he lost his bout against Michael Chandler at UFC 274.

The Irishman slammed Tony Ferguson and compared his face to a chicken nugget from McDonald’s in a now-viral tweet. The former double champion also went on to roast him in a series of tweets he put out on his handle. 

“Tony had some great nuggets in the media build-up. Then he got punt kicked to the chin and got turned into a nugget himself. That’s crazy,” wrote McGregor.

He also shared a picture of Tony Ferguson’s face when he got kicked by Chandler and tried to show the fans what he meant by his previous tweet.
