It is looking more and more apparent that NASCAR will host a street race in Chicago. However, there is a need to drop one race to make way for it on the calendar. Now, reports have emerged that Road America could be swapped out for Chicago. If that is the case, then Tyler Reddick will be the last Cup winner at Road America until it returns to the calendar.

In light of this, a number of NASCAR fans reacted to the news of Road America’s possible exit. It is safe to say that the response was pretty mixed, with some agreeing with Road America’s exit and others not liking it. According to the ones wanting the track’s departure, it hasn’t worked well with the Next Gen cars.

However, others acknowledged that while the racing has been mediocre, the attendance was still great.

This is not even a one-off, but spectators have almost always turned up in great numbers every year. A few were not happy about the prospect of a Chicago street race either, as their biggest complaint is that the track will be flat and boring.

What else did NASCAR fans say about the Road America rumor?

The fans that want Road America to stay insisted that there were other races that deserved to go. One example is Kansas, which has two races, and one could be dropped to accommodate the Chicago race. Others felt that one of the Texas races deserved to go, and the most sensible candidate for them would be the speedway.

A few other fans wondered whether it was right to go to a venue where people were not interested.

Unfortunately for critics and Road America fans, it looks like this plan is going ahead. This is actually a pretty interesting experiment, and no one knows how it will turn out until the cars hit the streets next year.
