Over the years, Andy Murray has enthralled tennis fans with his audacious displays on the court. He has put on consistent performances in big tournaments to be amongst the elite players in men’s tennis. At a time when the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic were ruling men’s tennis, Murray carved a niche for himself, winning three Grand Slam titles. Additionally, he also reached the top spot in the ATP rankings.
However, in the past few years, the British star has been suffering from injuries. He even underwent hip surgery and had a metal joint inserted in his hip. Recently, he talked about playing in the era of the ‘Big Three’.
Andy Murray on his career achievements
During a post-match interview after his pre-quarterfinal win in Newport, Murray was asked whether he was satisfied with the achievements he has had in his career. Replying to this, Murray said, “I mean I would’ve taken it for sure. But then, there’s obviously matches that you regret and wish you could’ve won and potentially won more majors but unfortunately I’ve been playing in a time where the three guys ahead of me were quite good.”

Further, he added, “Between them, they’ve got 63 slams so you know, it’s not been easy to win those sort of events but obviously as a 19-year-old, would’ve been a dream of mine to win Wimbledon and yeah, get to Number 1 in the world, these things. When I was a kid, I never would’ve expected that I would be able to do that. So yeah, I seem very fortunate in my career and happy with it.”
