Back in 2019 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, Alex Bowman earned the wrath of Bubba Wallace.

As it turned out, there was a small coming together between them. Naturally, a fuming Wallace made it his mission to make his displeasure known to the Hendrick Motorsports driver.

Speaking after the race, Bowman talked about the incident and the reaction.

He said, “I don’t know if he was mad about the first lap or what.”

“Obviously that was just a mistake and then I got flipped off for every single straightaway round the entire race track for three laps.”

“I got flipped off by him for three or four laps at Richmond. So I’m just over it.”

“I just, I got to stand up for myself at one point, right? Probably wouldn’t have got wrecked if he had his finger back in the car.”

What happened to Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace during the race?

On the bright side, Bowman did manage to finish in a fine second place, behind teammate Chase Elliott. The Hendrick duo led Kevin Harvick and his teammate Clint Bowyer, with Brad Keselowski in 5th place.

As for Bubba Wallace, he could only muster 24th place, which was a bit disappointing for the then Richard Petty Motorsports driver.

The irate #43 driver even threw water at the #88 Hendrick Motorsports driver. It is also worth mentioning that Bowman’s 2nd place was enough to see him advance through to the next Playoff round. Sadly, that was as far as he would go, as he was eliminated in the Round of 12, despite 3rd place at Dover.

Unfortunately, 37th place at Talladega and 11th at Kansas did not help his chances. So, he was eliminated, along with William Byron, Bowyer, and Keselowski.

In the end, the eventual champion that year, was none other than a delighted Kyle Busch. He was ahead of Martin Truex Jr, Harvick, and Denny Hamlin.
