Tatum addressed the reason behind wearing clothes featuring Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant on his way to the Chase Center before game 2 of the NBA finals. In fact, Tatum arrived in the building rocking a jacket with photos of both MJ and Kobe holding the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Tatum told NBC Sports Boston that he derives great inspiration from Michael Jordan. In fact, he has had multiple productive conversations with the 6-time NBA champion during the playoffs. “That’s my guy“, added Tatum before the interview ended.

Meanwhile, Tatum also wore a Michael Jordan shirt before game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against Miami. Therefore, it is not hard to speculate Tatum’s source of inspiration in leading the Celtics to their first NBA finals in over a decade.

Moreover, the 24-year-old Celtics star remembered the late great Kobe Bryant in Game 7 of the East finals. He wore a purple and gold armband with Kobe’s number 24 on it. In the post-game press conference, he detailed Kobe’s influence on him as a player.

Jayson Tatum and company face an uphill task of stealing a game from the Warriors on the road. Additionally, Curry is having a career-defining series to cement his legacy as an all-time great.
