Before Woods was going to turn 40 in 2015, he sat down with TIME at his restaurant in Jupiter, Fla, with an ice bag on his back. Tiger Woods shared his experiences, talked about his dreams, relationships, his hardships, and his wish to keep playing golf.
He was the one who wanted to break Jack Nicklaus’ record and win more than 18 major championships. The interviewer asked him if he did not look very driven by the thought of breaking the record. Which made him curious, as Woods had Jack’s 18 majors on his bedroom wall as a kid. He asked Woods, “Is there any misconception about what drives you?”
Woods cleared the doubts and said, “O.K., here’s the major misconception that people have all gotten wrong. It’s what was posted on my wall, about Jack’s records. It was not the majors, O.K.. There was one on there. It was the first time he broke 40, the first time he broke 80, the first golf tournament he ever won, first time he ever won the state amateur, first time he won the U.S. Amateur, and the first time he won the U.S. Open. “
He added, “That was it. That was the list. It was all age-related. To me, that was important. This guy’s the best out there and the best of all time. If I can beat each age that he did it, then I have a chance at being the best.”

Even though Tiger Woods wanted to be reach great heights in his career and break Nicklaus’ records, they were still good friends and have always been. Recently, they both are backing the PGA Tour amidst the controversial initiation of the LIV Golf Tour.
We saw tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus backing the PGA Tour ahead of the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews. Nicklaus said that LIV Golf offered him something of over $100 million. The job of Nicklaus was the same as Greg Norman, but he rejected the offer because he supports the PGA Tour.
