However, it was kind of a lucky victory for Nadal, as Zverev had a really bad injury in his right ankle in the second set. As a result of that injury, he had to retire from the match, giving Rafael Nadal a golden opportunity to win his 14th Grand Slam title.
Speaking of injuries, Marca earlier reported that Nadal is likely to miss the Wimbledon due to his foot injury. However, the latest report suggests that the earlier news was completely false.

According to Nadal’s PR team, Marca’s news was completely false, as Nadal will “try everything within limits to be in Wimbledon.”

Few other reports also suggested that Marca took down the article from their website. Additionally, a few British journalists were also fairly confident that Nadal would compete at Wimbledon.

Earlier, Marca reported that Nadal will take a long break from tennis after the French Open final to nurse his foot injury. Which basically meant that the Spaniard will miss the Wimbledon and a few other tournaments. If those reports were indeed not true, then we will most likely see the 21-time Grand Slam champion playing at Wimbledon this year.

Meanwhile, we may not see Nadal competing at Wimbledon as the 21-time Grand Slam champion. Because he might win the French Open title tomorrow and compete at Wimbledon as a 22-time Grand Slam winner.

In tomorrow’s final, he will face the Norwegian tennis star, Casper Ruud. Incidentally, Ruud will be playing his very first Grand Slam final tomorrow. Yesterday, after Nadal’s semi-final match, Ruud beat Marin Cilic by 3-6,6-4,6-2,6-2 to become the first Norwegian player to reach the final.
