New York Yankees are going all gun blazing in the ongoing MLB season. With players like Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, and Giancarlo Stanton by their side, the Yankees have their offenses covered.

Judge and Rizzo are playing in a different zone. The Yankees hitters have smashed 46 home runs together. With Judge belting 27 home runs, Rizzo has been his best partner in crime by hitting 19 home runs this season. He has been one of the best performers for the Pinstripes in 2022.

It has not been two years since Rizzo signed for the Yankees, but the second baseman has already become a fan favorite. Talking about Rizzo, even the NBA legend Charles Barkley is a big fan of the Yankees slugger. And if reports are true, then the former NBA star promised a big deal to Rizzo.

Did Anthony Rizzo get the deal from Charles Barkley?

The 32-year-old second baseman is enjoying an excellent run from the plate in the current season. Per a video doing rounds on the internet during a recent game between the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays, the commentator revealed an interesting deal from Barkley.

Per the video of Takin Yanks, Charles Barkley ran into Anthony Rizzo in their team hotel. And he promised Rizzo to donate $25,000 if he hits a home run against the Rays.

“At the hotel where the Yankees are staying, a lot of people with the Stanley Cup are staying there as well, and Charles Barkley is in the town. He is a big hockey fan, and he ran into Anthony Rizzo in the lobby last night. He said to Rizzo, “you hit a home run tomorrow, $25,000 to your biggest charity,” the commentator said.

However, Rizzo failed to do so. But the Yankees won the game and clinched the three-game series against the Rays. Aaron Judge smashed two home runs to win the game.

What’s next for the Yankees?

Though the Yankees have dominated every opponent they have played against this season, the next series is going to be a blockbuster. The Yankees will clash with the Houston Astros, one of the strongest teams in the 2022 season.
