Getting close to the truth of Meena’s (Paige Sandhu) crimes almost cost Manpreet (portrayed by Rebecca Sarker) her life.
And after she was saved by Liam (Jonny McPherson) last week, alongside Vinny Dingle, Manpreet was run over by her former fiancé Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin).
A dreadful accident which left Manpreet in a coma, much to Vinny’s despair as he wants nothing more than to see Liv – who was accused of Ben Tucker’s murder – roam free.
Meanwhile, Meena fled the village, reportedly to Scotland although she could have tricked the police into believing she went abroad, leaving her victims to deal with the consequences of her actions.

In new Emmerdale instalments due to air next week on ITV, Manpreet wakes up and makes her future plans known to Charles as she is traumatised by her ordeals.
Manpreet continues to put on a brave face but, soon, her struggles with her anxiety and her physical frailty get the best of her as she is terrified of running into Meena again.
Charles helps Manpreet recover and the pair remain united… although the latter expresses her ideas that she should move away and give herself a fresh start.
Both characters share a complicated past.

Manpreet dated Charles and awas even once due to marry him but she left him at the altar.
When Manpreet vanished, Charles was led to believe that she had either died or gone missing, only to find out she had gone back to her husband, too afraid to leave him and putting an end to her double life.
For years, Manpreet had taken on the name of Saira with Charles and the vicar only found out her true identity when they reunited.
Unable to forgive her lies, Charles claimed they had no future together and went on to date Andrea Tate despite Meena’s best efforts to separate them.
Meena eventually murdered Andrea and, in spite of their past drama, Charles and Manpreet reconnected, now on talking terms.
In October, 2021, the events led to heartbreak as Manpreet came clean about her true feelings and ended her marriage with Rishi Sharma.
But how will Charles react to Manpreet’s plan to leave the Dales?
Will he try to stop her from moving away?
Do Charles and Manpreet have a future together?
