HELEN Skelton felt “so stupid” after she lost £70k of her life savings in banking scam.
The TV star, 39, first opened up about what happened back in 2019.

But Helen has spoken out again about the devastating ordeal after teaming up with Lloyds Bank to chat about online safety.
Talking about her son, Helen said: “The notion of him chatting to his mates online scares me a bit.
“I don’t know that world and we’ve all heard plenty of things that could go wrong.”
The Countryfile presenter later recalled what happened to her when £70k was stolen from her.

Helen added: “I mean, come on – even as adults it is so easy to fall victim to a fraudster…
“I’ve done it – it has happened to me. It makes you feel really stupid. But it has happened to so many people who aren’t stupid.”
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine three years ago, Helen explained what happened.
She revealed she was scammed out of her entire life savings after a phone call she was told was her bank.

Speaking on Lorraine today, she said: “I got phoned up by the bank, told something dodgy had gone on with my account.
“The next week I had £70,000, all of my savings, had gone. All gone.”
The huge, hard-earned sum was snatched away from Helen after she was asked just a few questions about her account.
She added: “It was just a few questions over the phone.”
Helen has admitted she was distracted at the time of the call, but didn’t think anything of the conversation because she trusted it was a genuine call from her bank.
The mother-of-three – who had two sons at the time Ernie and Louis – said: “I had one kid up a tree, one wrestling the dog, another dog throwing up their kids birthday cake, then they phoned me from the bank and said ‘oh something has gone on’.
“You don’t question your bank.”

Earlier this year Helen announced her split from husband Richie Myler.
