DEAR DEIDRE: GOING on holiday makes me depressed. I always have a wonderful time with my husband while we’re away, but when I get home I realise I’m stuck in a rut.
I’m 55 and feel the clock is ticking. I’ve missed out on so much – fun, travelling and a better career.

My husband is 57 and is content with our life and doesn’t understand.
I’ve never found out who I am or what I want to do with my life. I had my kids at 24 and since then have been a mother and housewife.
Holidays are my only escape, but they only last two weeks and then it’s back to reality.
I hate being this depressed, negative person, but I don’t know how to break the cycle.
My dream is to walk out the door into a new life. Maybe I’m just having a mid-life crisis.
