I have no problem asking Ercan to marry me – but he’ll have to buy me HUGE engagement ring, says Vicky Pattison

VICKY Pattison has revealed that she has “no qualms asking boyfriend Ercan Ramadan to marry her” when the time is right.

The 34-year-old reality star said that it shouldn’t be a man’s job to propose and encourages women to take the lead – admitting that it is that it’s “bull****” that women get scrutinised for popping the question.

However, the Newcastle beauty admitted that there is a catch, confessing that she’ll only propose if her beau buys her a stunning engagement ring. 

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Vicky said: “I’m sure I read that Joshua Jackson’s bird asked him and I love that.

“Apparently she got a bit of stick about it but that’s bull****.”

The TV favourite said that women should feel empowered to make their own decisions when it comes to the proposal and it shouldn’t be solely down to the man.

“I’m all for it, it’s 2022 – I think women can do anything they set their minds to. We can be badass CEO, we can be mothers, teachers, doctors, we can raise children, create life, we can do whatever we want.

“If you want to ask someone to marry then absolutely go for it.”

But, the former Geordie Shore star said that she has one small issue about proposing.

She joked:  “But how does that work with the engagement ring? Because I really want a nice engagement ring, would you have to buy yourself one and put it on?

“I think I’d need to know how that works because that would be that bit I’d miss.

“I’d have no qualm asking Ercan to marry me but as long as I still got a nice ring out of it.”

Vicky revealed that she’s at the stage where she is ready to commit to Ercan – but explained that marriage will not define her happiness.

“I do think I’m getting to that stage that I’m ready to make that commitment to someone – not just anyone..Ercan,” she said.

“But I spent so many years rushing though life – wanting the next job, the next house, the next stage of my relationship.

“It was probably to distract myself because I was probably a bit unhappy, maybe going out with the wrong fella or not taking control of my career or knocking about with the wrong mates.

“So I thought that the next achievement would make me happy and of course it never does – happiness comes from being content with who you are.

“I’m finally in that stage, I’ve got a great relationship with my family, I absolutely love my job, I’m surrounded by lovely people, I get  to work with great brands, I’ve got a lovely boyfriend who loves me unconditionally, so yes marriage would be great, but it’s not the be all or end all.

“I’m not sending pictures of engagement rings or anything like that, I’m just really content. Yes marriage would be nice but it’s not going to affect how happy I am.”

HAPPY DAYS

Vicky and Ercan have gone from strength to strength over the past three years.

She said: “I think you all want to be loved and that’s a basic human desire, it’s lovely to feel supported and loved and share lovely things with them like holidays and looking after Milo together and a house.

“It’s not crazy wild sex, it’s not super expensive holidays, it’s not any of that s***. It’s being on the sofa with the person you love, that’s where I’m at.”

Earlier this year, the pair moved out of their luxury flat into a stunning new home, worth £1.5million.

The house has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and three large reception rooms as well as a stylish kitchen.

Buzzing about her move on Instagram, Vicky shared a picture of her smiling happily on the doorstep and one of her with her arms outstretched.

She captioned the happy images: “Proper pinch me moment today as I went to see our new home and have a little walk through with our designer! It is just as beautiful as I remembered and I’m so excited to get our teeth in to decorating it and turning it in to our dream home.

“I’ve debated posting this as the last thing I want to do is come across as smug or bloody showing off – especially in a year that has presented so many hardships for so many people.

“But I’ve always been super honest on Instagram, showing the good as well as the bad – and it’s important for us to celebrate our wins as much as it is for us to own our losses. So here goes.”

The couple have also recently added a new addition to their family, in the form of adorable Labrador Milo.

Vicky and Ercan first moved in together last August, nine months after her split with former fiancé John Noble.

Vicky ended things with businessman John after he was caught getting close to a mystery woman in Dubai.

She kicked him out of the house they’d bought together and called off the engagement – months before they were due to get married.

It was shortly after this she found love again with former Towie star Ercan – who she met in February 2019 and has been loved up with since.

Vicky, who has partnered with Hartley’s Jelly, has set realistic fitness goals this month and has urged everyone to be a little kinder to themselves.

“Be really realistic with yourself and kind to yourself. I just don’t think setting an unrealistic goal is healthy for anyone because you’ll always end up disappointed.

“I grew up with Hartley’s 10 Cal Jelly pots in my cupboard at home, my mum always loved them and I always had them.

“We are all struggling in January, it’s dark and miserable. A couple 10 Cal Jelly pots is the ideal way to get through and stay on track whatever your goals are, whether it’s fitness or just trying to curve a bit of a sweet tooth, it’s perfect for that.”
