It comes after Big Narstie revealed he spoke to Jamal just hours before his death.

Big Narstie wrote on Twitter: “This can’t be real spoke to @jamaledwards today we doing video Wednesday.”

Hours later he added: “I’m sorry still expecting to link u Wednesday @jamaledwards.”

Jamal and Big Narstie have been friends for a number of years and the rapper has been in a number of videos on Jamal’s channel SB.TV.

He founded the company back in 2006.

Jamal was pivotal in launching Ed’s music career and they were firm friends.

The last thing that the entrepreneur posted on Instagram was a tribute to the Photograph singer on his birthday.

Alongside a throwback snap of them together, Jamal wrote: “Happy Birthday to the OG, Ed. Blessed to have you in my life brother. You know you’ve been mates a long time when you lose count on the years! Keep smashing it & inspiring us all G! 👊🏾💙.”

In a 2019 interview, Jamal told how he and Ed were a perfect fit from the off.

He told Coffee, Eggs and Inspiration: “I wanted to work with singers and he wanted to work in the scene, so it was perfect.”

Jamal helped to launch a string of other UK music careers including Dave, Emeli Sandé and Jessie J through his channel.

He was also an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, a charity headed by the Prince of Wales, and in 2014 he was awarded an MBE for his services to music.

On Monday night it was revealed that Jamal died from a “sudden heart attack” at the home he shared with his mum.

He passed away on Sunday morning after his final DJ set at a bar the night before.

His grief-stricken friends say he suffered a heart attack at his home in Acton, West London, as they told of their shock at his death.

One pal who attended Acton High School with the star says his family are “still trying to come to terms with it”.

The friend, named as Dwayne, told the Mail: “The details are still not clear but we’ve been told that it was a heart attack.

“He was out DJing on Saturday night and eventually got home in the early hours of Sunday.

“The family are still trying to come to terms with it all, but we’ve heard that his mum found him in his bedroom and called an ambulance.”

It comes after his heartbroken mum Brenda Edwards broke her silence on the devastating news in a statement – expressing her “deepest heartache” as she revealed her son died from a “sudden illness”.

Loose Women star Brenda, 52, said:  “It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness. Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated.

“He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss.

“I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support. Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many.

“Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on. Long live Jamal Edwards MBE, MBA, PHD.”
