The former adult film actress Jenna Jameson revealed Monday that she’s suffering from the autoimmune disorder Guillain-Barré syndrome.
The 47-year-old model’s partner Lior Bitton shared on her Instagram account over the weekend that she was in the hospital because she was ‘not feeling so good,’ though her condition deteriorated to the point that she wasn’t able to walk.
While sharing her diagnosis, James also revealed that she had not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Saturday, Bitton took over Jameson’s Instagram account to share with her 520K followers that she was currently in the hospital for tests.
He said she had been under the weather for a while and had been ‘throwing up for a couple weeks.’
Jameson went to the hospital the week before, but doctors sent her home while she awaited the results of a CT scan.
However, her condition deteriorated further while she waited for clarity.
‘Then she came back home and she couldn’t carry herself,’ Bitton explained. ‘Her muscles in her legs were very weak. So she wasn’t able to walk to the bathroom. She was falling on the way back or to the bathroom, I would have to pick her up and carry her to bed. And then within two days it got really not so good, her legs started to not hold her, she wasn’t able to walk.’

Bitton, who cuddled with the couple’s daughter Batel Lu on the sofa while he spoke to the camera, said he took Jameson back to the hospital, where doctors performed an MRI and a spinal tap to get to the bottom of her condition.
‘Update on Jenna. Today is her 3rd day in the hospital,’ he added in the caption. ‘The hospital did CT, MRI and Spinal Tap tests. Waiting to find out what’s going on and how we can treat her so she can get better and feel better.’
Later on Monday, Jenna took control of her account to reveal her Guillain-Barré diagnosis via a self-shot video that featured a filter that gave her oversized eyes with long lashes.
‘We’ve gotten some answers. I am dealing with a little syndrome called Guillain-Barré syndrome, so we’re working through that,’ she explained. ‘And I just wanted to let you know that I see all your DMs and I appreciate it so much.’

‘I’m getting my second IVIG,’ she revealed in a second set of Instagram Stories videos. ‘So I just had an infusion, and we’re just working toward getting better.’

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describes Guillain-Barré as a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system begins to attack the nerves, causing muscle weakness, which can lead to paralysis in extreme cases.
Most people are expected to recover within weeks, but the condition can sometimes drag on for years, and it can even be fatal in rare cases.
Suffers often have diarrhea or respiratory illness in the weeks prior to their diagnosis, and Bitton had claimed that the actress had been vomiting in previous weeks.
The condition can also pop up following infections with certain viruses, and, in very rare cases, after receiving certain vaccines.
However, James revealed in her caption that her Guillain-Barré syndrome couldn’t possibly have been the result of a coronavirus vaccine, as she hadn’t been vaccinated at all for it or anything else recently, which presumably ruled out a flu shot as well
‘Hey guys, first of all thank you for all the love and support through my DMs. I see each and every one of you, and I appreciate it,’ she wrote in her capton. ‘The doctors suspect Guillain-Barré syndrome and have started my IVIG treatment. I am in the hospital and will likely remain here until treatment is complete. I hope to be out of here soon.’
She added: ‘PS I did NOT get the jab or any jab. This is NOT a reaction to the jab. Thank you for your concern.’
