The three celebrities meeting up at a private jet terminal struck an ironic note as all of them are noted for their vocal support of ecological issues.

Mila and Ashton last year posed for an Architectural Digest profile of their six-acre ‘sustainable farmhouse,’ which runs on solar photovoltaic energy, and of which Mila said: ‘We wanted a home, not an estate.’

Their architect Howard Backen said: ‘Ashton and Mila are concerned about the quality of the soil, the purity of the food they eat and the water they drink. The ideals of sustainability and regenerative farming aren’t just abstract concepts to them.’

Meanwhile Leonardo has spent years lending his public support to environmental causes and even used his Oscar speech to call climate change ‘the most urgent threat facing our entire species.’

He urged all the Oscars viewers to ‘work collectively and stop procrastinating’ on the issue of climate change’ in his speech, which was given in 2016 for his role in The Revenant.

His latest big release is Don’t Look Up, Adam McKay’s apocalypse comedy about a meteor that is about to destroy earth as an allegory for climate change.

However he has continued to use private jets for his personal travel – including once in 2016 from Cannes to New York specifically so he could be presented with an environmental award, Page Six reported.

All three celebrities have lately been connected by their charitable giving – Mila and Ashton have donated millions to help Ukraine amid the Russian invasion, and Leonardo has given money as well.

Mila hails from Ukraine herself, having been born in Chernivtsi when it was part of the Soviet Union, and like many Ukrainians she is still able to speak Russian.

She and Ashton set up a GoFundMe to raise $30 million to be donated to Airbnb and Flexport, which are both involved in humanitarian efforts for those affected by the war.

The couple themselves pledged to match the first $3 million and their fundraiser has now amassed more than $35 million, for which the celebs were personally thanked by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Meanwhile Leonardo was widely reported to have donated $10 million to the Ukrainian war effort, and to have had a grandmother born in Ukraine, but those reports turned out to be false.

However a source in his camp told People: ‘Leo had privately made several donations to humanitarian groups – CARE, IRC, UNHCR and Save The Children. All directed at Ukraine.’

The insider added: ‘He had been watching things unfold and wanted to support Ukraine the best he could. He will continue to support the humanitarian groups on the ground which are helping the people of Ukraine.’

Recently Mila gave an interview to Maria Shriver for Entertainment Tonight and insisted: ‘I don’t think that we need to consider the people of Russia an enemy.’

She added: ‘I do really wanna emphasize that. I don’t think that that’s being said enough in the press. I think there’ snow “if you’re not with us, you’re against us” mentality.’

The Family Guy star added: ‘And I don’t want people to conflate the two problems that are happening. I don’t think it’s the people of Russia and so I don’t want there to be a thing of: “All Russians are horrible human beings.”

She went on: ‘Like I don’t want that to be the rhetoric so I do encourage people to look at it from a perspective of: “It’s the people in power, not the people themselves.’
