SIR TOM Jones was forced to postpone a concert in Budapest last night after collapsing minutes before he was set to take to the stage.
The Welsh legend, 82, took ill around an hour before he was supposed to perform in the Hungarian capital on his Surrounded by Time tour.
Paramedics rushed to the MVM dome when Sir Tom collapsed, with private medical staff insisting he was not fit to perform.
Directors for the concert apologised to the audience in both Hungarian and English over the loudspeaker and said the concert would be rescheduled for August 16.
They said that Sir Tom “was looking forward to seeing them again”, local Hungarian media reported.
Sir Tom’s concert at the MVM Dome replaced the originally advertised Kiyev stop on his Surrounded by Time tour due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
His European and US tour features more than 50 dates and the singer is due to perform in cities across Germany, Croatia, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway and Belgium over the coming weeks.
In August, Sir Tom is due to return to the UK for more tour dates, including performances in Edinburgh and Essex before jetting out to the United States.
Back in 2017, the It’s Not Unusual singer was forced to postpone his 21-date US tour until the following year after doctors’ orders.
The former The Voice UK coach has sold over 100 million records with 36 Top 40 hits in the UK and 19 in the US.
A source told MailOnline: “Tom Jones collapsed, so his concert was cancelled tonight and doctors were called to the stadium.
“His management has set August 16th as the new date for the concert.”
