Last month, Netflix revealed the names of the performers rounding out the cast of the crime drama, including Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Martin Rodriguez and José Zúñiga.

The show will follow Blanco’s rise as a drug trafficker from Colombia to Miami, where she was a key player in the Medellin Cartel amid the infamous Cocaine Cowboy Wars in South Florida.

In a 1993 internal DEA publication called Drug Enforcement, the agency described Blanco’s bloodthirsty nature amid the drug wars.

‘Griselda loved killings. Bodies lined the streets of Miami as a result of her feuds,’ the report read, according to The Independent. ‘She gathered around her a group of henchmen known as the Pisteleros.

‘Initiation into the group was earned by killing someone and cutting off a body part as proof of the deed. It is said that one of the Pisteleros assassinated a rival by riding up to him on a motorcycle and shooting him point-blank.’

Blanco was imprisoned from 1985 thru 2004 in connection with drug trafficking and murder, and was subsequently deported to Colombia in 2004
