X Factor’s ‘Tesco Mary’ Byrne has showed off her incredible six stone weight loss and brand new look.
The singer, 62, a former Tesco worker who took part in the 2010 series of the show has since revealed that her weight crept up to 21 stone after appearing on the show.
She told the Irish Mirror: ‘I looked at the picture of me on the show and me now and I honestly was shocked.

‘Because it has happened gradually over the decade I guess I haven’t noticed it as much but yes, it is a shocking amount of weight loss. I was just under 21 stone on the show and I am now just over 15 stone.’
Mary said that the results have had such a positive influence over her health that she wants to come off her anti-depressants.
She praised her daughter for inspiring her to make a change.

The singer said: ‘My daughter is the reason behind it and we fight like cats and dogs because she is so strict on me. But it has worked.
‘She won’t let me do the shopping because she knows I buy rubbish, which I will, but she has made me realise that life is there for living.’
As well as her weight loss, Mary also showed off a new blonde short do, in place of her long brunette hair.

She said she aims to lose another two stone in weight and has simply been eating smaller portions and exercising regularly.
Mary, who starred alongside One Direction and came in fifth place, previously revealed she had already lost four and a half stone in weight.
