Jahn opened fire on an van carrying detainees awaiting processing Wednesday morning from a rooftop overlooking the Dallas ICE office, killing one migrant and wounding two others before taking his own life.
Joshua Jahn identified as main suspect in ICE facility shooting
Authorities investigating the recent ICE shooting have identified Joshua Jahn as the main suspect behind the deadly shooting. According to officials, Jahn fired at an unmarked ICE transport van, striking several detainees inside before eventually turning the gun on himself. Officials later found his dead body on the roof of a nearby immigration lawyer’s office. According to reports, ammunition recovered at the scene carried “anti-ICE” messages, and authorities have also confirmed that the victims were detainees in ICE custody, not staff or officers. The FBI and Homeland Security are now leading a full-scale investigation into the shooting.
Motive behind the shooting
As of now, investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive, but all evidence points towards Jahn’s anti-ICE stance. Moreover, authorities discovered ammunition etched with “Anti-ICE” slogans and his deliberate targeting of detainees, which suggest his intent to send a political message. Authorities strongly believe that Jahn attacked due to a growing hostility toward immigration enforcement agencies and not randomly. As of now, officials continue to examine his background for potential ties to any extremist groups or anti-government movements.
While a manifesto is yet to be recovered, his social media accounts show that he talked about video games, cars, “South Park” and marijuana.
His vehicle had a map depicting radioactive fallout in the US affixed to the right rear quarter panel and text above the printed out map stuck to his blue Toyota Corolla read “Radioactive fallout from nuclear detonations have passed over these areas more than 2x since 1951.”

He also had a brother named Noah and a sister named Kioko, who has had multiple run-ins with the law.
Kioko, 27, has been arrested three times in Collin County and has other run-ins with the law across Texas since 2017 as well.
Jahn was first arrested on April 4, 2019, and charged with misdemeanor assault, an offense she pleaded guilty to seven months later in exchange for an unspecified probation term and she was booked again on March 4, 2022, for marijuana possession but her case was dismissed in August 2023
Besides the fact that she has been arrested several times, there is little to no information available about her.
