Ben Affleck first broke into acting as a child on PBS’ The Voyage of the Mimi when he was 12 years old. However, he has since become a Hollywood icon, and Good Will Hunting is arguably the film which launched him to success.

Ben Affleck’s dad’s job sparked pivotal role in film
Good Will Hunting was Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s breakout film which follows a math genius who denies his talent to hang out with his old friends and work as a janitor.
Matt Damon’s character in Good Will Hunting is a janitor at an Ivy League institution and this character was actually inspired by Ben Affleck’s father, who had worked as a janitor at Harvard.
Ben Affleck’s mother also has a tie to Harvard as she got her Master’s degree from there, before going on to teach fifth and sixth grade in a public school.
Affleck has revealed that his father worked a variety of jobs, but once had a dream to be in the industry that Ben was in. Timothy Affleck was an auto mechanic, a bartender and a janitor at Harvard but he was actually an aspiring playwright. In fact, it appears Affleck actually followed in his father’s footsteps as his dad was an actor and stage manager with the Theater Company of Boston in the 1960s.
Ben Affleck’s dad didn’t know he was about to propose
Timothy has revealed that he didn’t initially know about J-Lo and Affleck’s romance re-kindling, 17 years after calling off their engagement.
Speaking to The Sun, at the start of when the duo were rumoured to be getting back together Timothy said: ‘I’ve never heard of all that nonsense.”
The 78-year-old continued that he didn’t get the relationship update off Ben yet: “Of course, I’ve heard of her. But I had no idea about any of this. I talk to my kids about their lives when I see them, and they share with me what they want to share.”
It is likely that Tim was a bit out of the loop about who his kids were dating. That is because Lopez and Affleck have now tied the knot at a lowkey Las Vegas wedding held at midnight on July 17. The singer confirmed the news in her newsletter, On The JLo.
