Chris Bianco and wife Mia share peek into family life on Chef’s Table: Pizza

Chris Bianco, iconic pizza chef and longtime friend to Jimmy Kimmel, is the focus of the first-ever episode of Chef’s Table: Pizza on Netflix – and his wife, Mia, joins him in the episode to talk about their pizza journey.

A brand new instalment in the Chef’s Table saga was released to Netflix on September 7, 2022. This time, rather than focussing on the extravagant world of fine dining, the show takes a look at a more homely food item: pizza. Chris Bianco is one of six chefs featured in the documentary series, which takes viewers on a trip around the world to meet some of the greats currently making pizza.

Chris’s wife Mia Bianco features heavily in the episode, given that she supports him in the running of Pizzeria Bianco. Let’s get to know the foodie couple better.

Chris has been married to wife Mia since 2013

Chris and Mia Bianco (née Guerra) tied the knot on February 2, 2013 on what Chris describes as “the greatest happiest day of [his] life” in a celebratory anniversary post. The couple spent their honeymoon in the UK travelling between Brighton, London, and Babington House in Somerset.

The same year they married, Chris opened a 35-seat Italian restaurant called simply Italian Restaurant, adding to his ever-growing restaurant empire.

Although her age is unknown, Mia Bianco celebrates her birthday on April 28.

Mia helps with Chris’ work in the pizza business

With Chris Bianco now overseeing multiple restaurants in Phoenix and Los Angeles, his wife Mia has helped out in the running of business while also looking after their children.

Chris has one of the country’s top pizza joints, so it’s no surprise Mia is roped in to help run his ever-growing empire. Currently there are three Pizza Bianco sites (two in Phoenix, one in Los Angeles), Pane Bianco, Bar Bianco, and Tratto (all three in Phoenix).

Serious Eats founder and pizza expert Ed Levine explains in the Chef’s Table episode that the best pizza in the world is found in Phoenix, Arizona at Pizza Bianco. Given that Levine once ate 1,000 pizza slices in a year to find the best pie, he certainly knows his stuff.

Chris allows viewers a peak into the Bianco family life

The Chef’s Table: Pizza episode about Chris Bianco allows a peak into his family life. He reveals details of his upbringing with his mother and father in New York City to sharing details of his new family life in Phoenix, Arizona.

In his later years, after several health battles, Chris has shifted from pizzaiolo to restauranteur as his restaurant group has expanded across the United States – they now have a Pizza Bianco in Los Angeles.

“Chris’ focus has shifted. Now he has a family and children. He’s handed off the day-to-day operation successfully and now he can figure out how to work smarter not necessarily harder,” Mia Bianco says in the episode.

The couple have three children together

Together, Chris and Mia have three children named Nina, Leo, and Eva. They welcomed Nina on April 10, 2014, Leo on December 12, 2015, and finally Eva in September 2017.

Both Mia and Chris share plenty of family snaps to Instagram where they show the three kids getting stuck into the food world from a young age. We get a glimpse into the family cooking together in Chef’s Table: Pizza.
