Congratulations are in order for Lebron James’ younger son, Bryce. The fifteen-year-old has just received his first Division I Basketball scholarship offer to play basketball at Duquesne University.
The talented teen shared the news on an Instagram Story, writing alongside the Duquesne’s logo, “Blessed to receive my first d1 offer from Duquesne #godukes.”
And of course, the 37-year-old NBA legend shared his son’s story on his own social media, proudly adding, “AYYYEEE!!! LET’S GO MAXIMUS @_JUSTBRYCE.”
According to Sports Illustrated, there is a connection between the James family and Duquesne University. The team’s head coach Keith Dambrot previously coached LeBron when he himself was a student at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. Dru Joyce III, an assistant coach for the team, also played with LeBron when the pair were in high school.
Bryce, the younger brother of Bronny James, is a rising sophomore at the famed Sierra Canyon School in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Bryce is of course expected to play on the school’s JV team this year as his brother takes one last spin on the court as a senior.
At the beginning of August, Lebron had another exciting moment as a parent when he had the opportunity to watch both of his boys play together on the same court.
“Man I’m literally watching Bronny and Bryce on the court together for the first time in a game situation!! This is INSANE!! I’m EMOTIONAL AF!! WOW,” the proud father tweeted to his 5.9M followers as he watched his sons play basketball together for the California Basketball Club.
As we see, Bryce James is truly making a name for himself. He has now physically outgrown his older brother and is a top-notch 3-point shooter. He has two more years to impress us all on the court. We have not doubt that he is going to deliver.
