Inside General Hospital star Josh Swickard’s family life
Swickard was born in Illinois on 4 July 1992 to parents Bob and Gina Swickard who are a Pastor and vocal coach. The actor has three sisters Elyssa Swickard, Kalia Swickard and Elayna Swickard and attended Glenwood High School and the College of DuPage. At DuPage, he majored in accounting and was thinking of going into finance, and even contemplated bookkeeping in Chicago. However, once he got into modelling, he eventually started working with an acting coach and caught the bug for acting.
Speaking on his childhood he told Stone Cold and the Jackal, “I grew up in Springfield, Illinois. I always tell people that it is a great place to be from! It was everything you could hope for in a hometown. We had a barn, a cornfield, and our neighbors even had horses.”
As for expanding his own family Josh and his wife, Lauren, had a daughter on 2nd April 2021 who they called Savannah Kaye Swickard. The family recently celebrated Savannah’s first birthday.
Josh Swickard’s fairytale wedding explored
The pair wedded in July 2019 but the couple originally met on the set of the Netflix movie Roped. “He eventually asked for my number underneath the famous Warner Brothers water tower in Hollywood,” Lauren explained. After dating for a year and a half he asked her to marry him. He did this by acting out the word “proposal” during a game of charades with both of their families. Sweet, or what?
The couple wanted the big day to reflect who they were, so opted for a theme of ‘Old Hollywood Glamour’ at their wedding. Lauren wore an Elizabeth Fillmore gown with Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy being her inspiration for the look. Morning Mist Jenny Yoo dresses were worn by the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore black-tie suits with gifted gold knot cufflinks.
Specifics of their fairytale wedding explained
The ceremony took place at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church. Josh’s father who is a pastor, carried out the wedding and his grandfather was his best man. Lauren’s father traditionally walked her down the aisle and following the ceremony, attendees went to the stately home, Greenacres. The newlyweds performed their choreographed dance to “L.O.V.E.” by Frank Sinatra outside on the grounds.
They then ate dinner in marquees on the grounds with white floral arrangements and candles on the tables. The wedding cake was a lemon olive oil cake with strawberry filling and vanilla icing, which everyone took a piece of before heading to the dance floor. Before the happily married couple left the venue in a 1963 Rolls-Royce to end the special day.
