It’s been four years since the tragic passing of Jackson Odell. The 20-year-old actor was best known for playing student Ari Caldwell in the ABC comedy The Goldbergs.
Sadly, on 8 June 2018, Jackson was found dead at a sober living facility in San Fernando Valley, California. Over two months later it emerged that he had tragically died from an accidental drug overdose from “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity.”

Jackson Odell”s mom Jodi shares moving tribute to her late son
9 June 2022 was the four year anniversary of Jackson Odell’s death. On Instagram, his mother Jodi Odell posted a moving tribute to her son about how much she loved and missed him.
‘Four years feels like forever,’ she wrote alongside a picture of Jackson looking out towards a stunning mountain view:
What we know about Jackson Odell’s parents and family
Jackson was born in a small town in Colorado on 2 July 1997 to parents Jason and Jodi Odell who are now believed to be in their 50s. Jackson also has a sister named Jenna. She is on Instagram but her account is set to private.
However, Jodi has shared pictures of her daughter Jenna to Instagram, including a birthday tribute when she turned 23:

According to Jodi Odell’s Instagram bio, she is a ‘design Lover, storyteller, and creator of spaces’. Over the years she has often shared pictures of Jackson on her Instagram account, honoring his legacy after his untimely passing.
On what would have been his 24th birthday last year, she posted a picture of Jackson with the words, ‘I will continue to celebrate all that made you wonderfully You.’
Jackson’s other acting credits
Jackson’s first acting role came when he was just 12-years-old in the TV show Private Practice. He then went on to star in several other hit TV shows including iCarly, Modern Family, and Arrested Development.
In Modern Family he guest starred as Ted Durkas, a kid at Luke Dunphy and Manny Delgado’s middle school who gives both boys a hard time.
Jackson also starred in the 2011 film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer with Heather Graham.
He was also a musician and moved to Nashville to better pursue his career in music. He often posted videos on his YouTube channel JaxnSings with covers and original songs, and wrote several songs for the 2018 film Forever My Girl.
